Eden Park Rangers 6 Paul Birch FC 0

Paul Birch FC fell to their eighth league defeat of the season with a 6-0 loss to Eden park Rangers.

The game was delayed for half an hour whilst the pitch thawed from a harsh overnight frost. It was the first time this season manager Steve Birch had a squad of 14 to pick from.

In the first half the visitors matched the high flyers from Eden Park. John Wawrzewski pulled off a string of saves and Matthew Revett struck a fine shot after twenty nine minutes. However, Eden Park scored their first on the eve of half time when mark beale failed to clear the ball and the EPR striker had an easy chance to put the ball away. 1-0 Eden Park Rangers.

Into the second half and PB were dissapointed that they didnt get more out of the first half and knew they had to bounce back straight away if they were going to have a chance.

However, although they continued to match EPR, they did not have the cutting edge to make the break through and once EPR scored their second it was downhill from there.

PB can be encouraged by their performance as was the same in their last game against Leabridge. The side is improving and will get better but it is a learning curve this season and it will take a while before the jugsaw clicks into place.
