Paul Birch FC 2 Lessa Albion 8

Paul Birch FC completed their preparations for the 2008/2009 season with a dissapointing 8-2 defeat by Lessa Albion.

The senior side were 2-0 up after only a matter of minutes before Ashley Robinson produced a fine ball to set-up Steve Birch to make it 2-1. From there it went down hill, they were 5-1 down at half time. Paul Smith made it 5-2 before Lessa scored three more to finish the game off. To be honest, the side did not play that badly but Lessa were ruthless in front of goal and did not give PB a chance.

A bit of a hammering then and the side will be looking to forget the game and move onto their first league game away at Coney Hall next week.
