Paul Birch FC 6 Belldown FC 2

Paul Birch FC commenced their preparations for the 2008/2009 season with a 6-2 win against Belldown FC.

It was a good run-out for the side and a game that featured 27 players! The side was a mixture of 1st team and reserve players from last players together with new players and triallists. Managers Steve Birch and Paul Partridge put out two different eleven's for each half together with substitutes.

The side found themselves 2-0 down at half time after a couple of well crafted goals from Belldown. However, PB came back in the second half with two goals from Paul Smith, two from Terry Paine, and one each from Tim Riddoch and Steve Birch to cruise to a comfortable win.

However credit to Belldown FC who only had 16 players and were visibly tiring in the second half and the club wishes them well for the new season.

Next up for Paul Birch FC is another mixed game at home to AFC Lions next Sunday 10 August 2008.
